How we picked

We compared the details that change a Chicago ride: whether a route price is visible before booking; whether the published fare states what it includes; airport waiting and pickup instructions; vehicle classes and listed group sizes; online, phone and app booking options; and public review profiles. We checked company websites and public profiles on Nov 5, 2026. A route fare is not comparable with an hourly rate, and an airport waiting policy is not the same as a pickup grace period.

We’re Artisan Limo, a chauffeured car service in Chicago, and we wrote this guide. We put ourselves first and say so. Every fact about another company comes from its own website or its public Google and Yelp profiles, checked Nov 5, 2026. Prices and policies change, so check with each company before you book.

Artisan Limo: best for executive sedans and SUVs with the full price shown before you book, corporate invoicing and NDAs on request (this is us)

We offer airport and point-to-point rides in Executive Sedans, Executive SUVs, Luxury SUVs and Luxury Sedans, plus Sprinters and coaches by written quote. Starting fares are $135, $155, $185 and $235 by class. Your route price is shown before you book; required trip charges are included and gratuity is optional on its own line. Airline-arrival waiting for sedans and SUVs is 60 minutes domestic or 90 minutes international from wheels-down. An optional inside-terminal meet-and-greet is $25. SUV child seats are $25 each, up to two, requested in advance with each child’s age, weight and height, subject to availability. Approved corporate accounts offer company invoicing and cost centers. Every chauffeur signs an NDA on request. Online ride requests and phone service are available 24/7.

Best for: executive trips that need visible route pricing, company billing or a chauffeur NDA.

Worth knowing: Sprinter and coach prices and waiting terms are set in a written quote.

Chi Town Black Cars: best for family and group airport trips

Chi Town Black Cars offers airport and point-to-point service across Chicago and surrounding suburbs, with sedans, SUVs, Sprinter vans and larger group vehicles. Its website, chitownblackcars.com, offers flat-rate quotes and shows a $128 starting fare for O’Hare service. The company says its dispatch and availability operate around the clock, and its airport pages describe flight tracking and inside-terminal greetings. It accepts reservations online, through its app, by phone or email. The fleet page lists vehicles for individual travelers through motorcoach groups. The reviewed pages give different airport-waiting terms: the O’Hare page says 60 minutes free, while the general black-car FAQ describes a separate waiting policy. A general child-seat price is not stated.

Best for: travelers seeking airport service with a choice of family vehicles, inside greetings and group transportation.

Worth knowing: its O’Hare waiting details differ from the general FAQ, so ask which rule applies to your pickup.

Black Car Everywhere Limousine & Car Service: best for published airport sedan fares

Black Car Everywhere lists flat sedan fares for Chicago routes and offers hourly chauffeur service, SUVs, Sprinters, stretch vehicles and buses. Its website, blackcareverywhere.com, lists $83 for a sedan from downtown Chicago to O’Hare and $76 from downtown to Midway. The site does not say whether those listed route fares include tolls, taxes or gratuity. Booking is available through its website and app, as well as phone, text and email. Its pages describe flight tracking, 24/7 service and meet-and-greet options. The sedan detail page lists a 2-hour minimum for an hourly booking. The reviewed airport waiting notes state 75 minutes for international arrivals and 15 minutes for other pickups.

Best for: passengers comparing posted sedan prices to O’Hare, Midway and other Chicago destinations.

Worth knowing: its website gives different sedan hourly rates on separate pages, and its child-seat pages also show differing prices.

Chicago Private Car Service (Chicago Private Cars): best for corporate accounts and hourly charters

Chicago Private Car Service offers executive sedans and SUVs for Chicago airport trips, point-to-point rides and hourly charters. Its website, chicagoprivatecars.com, says flat rates are available to most destinations, but it does not publish a numeric fare table. Sedan and SUV charters have a 3-hour minimum, with rates provided by phone. The company says taxes and tolls are included in its fares, while gratuity is encouraged but not included. Its service area includes O’Hare, Midway and private aviation terminals; the website also describes corporate accounts with detailed billing and priority service. Reservations are available online, by phone or email, and phone lines are staffed 24/7. A 10-minute grace period applies from scheduled pickup; a separate airport-arrival allowance is not stated.

Best for: business travel that needs corporate account options or an hourly charter with a published minimum.

Worth knowing: the website does not post route fares, so request a quote for the actual pickup, destination and date.

Echo Limousine: best for airport transfers with published sample fares

Echo Limousine offers airport and regional trips, hourly service, sedans, SUVs, vans and coaches. Its website, echolimousine.com, publishes a downtown-to-O’Hare sedan sample at $85 and a 7-passenger SUV sample at $100. The caption for that sample table says the fuel surcharge and gratuity are excluded. Online quotes and reservations are available, and the company also offers an app; reservations for some larger vehicles require a phone call. Its airport terms list 60 minutes of waiting for commercial arrivals, and an inside-terminal greeting is available for $30 on domestic arrivals or $40 on international arrivals. Car seats are available on request for $20 each. The company’s pricing FAQ and terms do not describe inclusions the same way as the sample-rate table.

Best for: travelers who want to compare a published airport sample and book a range of vehicle classes.

Worth knowing: its rates page, FAQ and terms differ on fuel surcharge and gratuity, so check the total and its itemization.

Royal Limo Services: best for scheduled airport travel with app booking

Royal Limo Services offers Chicago and suburban trips, airport transfers, hourly service, private aviation pickups and vehicles from sedans to motorcoaches. Its website, royallimoservices.co, lists a Standard Sedan rate of $90 and a Standard SUV rate of $110, described on the homepage as all-inclusive, without attaching those entries to a specific route. The same homepage gives an O’Hare-to-downtown range of $120 to $250, depending on vehicle. A separate article lists hourly pricing, including an executive sedan at $110 per hour with a 3-hour minimum and 20% gratuity added. The company offers online and app booking, and its terms describe one hour of complimentary airport waiting from gate arrival. Child seats are available by request, but a price is not listed.

Best for: travelers who prefer app booking and need airport or hourly vehicle choices.

Worth knowing: the homepage rate presentation and the separate hourly schedule describe different pricing formats.

O’Hare Limousine: best for large-group events and transfers

O’Hare Limousine offers fixed pricing and describes its black-car rates as including the base fare, chauffeur gratuity and applicable taxes and fees. Its website, oharelimousine.com, lists executive sedans and SUVs as well as Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, mini coaches, full-size coaches, stretch limousines and party buses. It says its coaches carry up to 50 passengers. The company does not publish a route-fare table or a sample price on the reviewed service pages. Reservations can be made online or by phone, and its vehicles operate 24 hours per day. Its service pages do not state an airport waiting allowance, a meet-and-greet fee, flight tracking or a child-seat policy, so ask for those details when requesting a trip price.

Best for: a group that needs a bus, stretch vehicle or other large vehicle for an event or airport movement.

Worth knowing: a written quote is needed to compare an exact route or group vehicle price.

Blacklane GmbH: best for app-first trips spanning multiple cities

Blacklane offers prebooked Chicago rides through its website and app. Its Chicago page lists sedans for up to three passengers and a Business Van/SUV for up to five. The website, blacklane.com, shows route or hourly prices by vehicle; its pricing information says standard taxes, tolls, tips, fees and associated charges are included, with an additional tip optional. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of waiting, and a chauffeur can meet passengers after baggage claim with a personalized sign at participating airports. Hourly bookings have a 2-hour minimum. Blacklane connects guests with local chauffeur providers and has no single local Chicago Google or Yelp listing.

Best for: someone booking through an app across multiple cities who wants a prebooked airport chauffeur and meeting sign.

Worth knowing: the quote is dynamic and varies with route, time, availability and demand, rather than using a published Chicago route-fare table.

What does black car service mean in Chicago?

Black car service means a prearranged private ride with a chauffeur, usually in a sedan or SUV. Artisan’s Executive Sedan and Luxury Sedan each carry up to two passengers and three bags; both SUV classes carry up to six passengers and six bags. Tell the company about oversized luggage before choosing a class.

For groups, Jet Sprinters carry about 8 to 10 passengers, Executive Sprinters about 13, and Limo Sprinters about 8 to 17 depending on layout. Mini Coaches carry up to 24 passengers and Motorcoaches up to 56. Larger vehicles are priced by written quote. A black car carries your private party; a stretch limousine is one possible fleet option, not a requirement for a chauffeured sedan or SUV.

See vehicle choices and starting fares on our Chicago black car service page. Include passengers, bags and any oversized items when requesting a group quote.

How much does black car service in Chicago cost?

Artisan starting rides are $135 for an Executive Sedan, $155 for an Executive SUV, $185 for a Luxury SUV and $235 for a Luxury Sedan. These are class minimums, not flat rates to every address. Enter your actual route for a price shown before you book. Required trip charges are included and gratuity is optional on its own line. On ordinary dates, sedan and SUV prices do not change with demand; major convention dates use event-week estimates.

Approved extensions are billed in 30-minute steps at the same rate, subject to availability. Choose hourly service to keep the car between appointments, or a transfer for a direct ride.

Black car service Chicago vs Uber Black

Uber Black and Uber Black SUV are app-booked rides. Uber’s published O’Hare-to-Chicago averages were $108 for Black and $135 for Black SUV, based on the past month and checked Nov 5, 2026. These are averages, not fixed offers. Uber lists capacities of up to four passengers in Black sedans and up to six in Black SUVs.

Artisan shows your route price before you book. Sedans and SUVs include 60 minutes domestic or 90 minutes international airport waiting from wheels-down. O’Hare lists Black Car pickup on the lower level at all terminals; general app rides use specified upper-level zones at Terminals 2 and 3. Compare the current app total, vehicle fit, meeting point and waiting terms. For arrival details, see O’Hare car service. Rideshare prices change with demand.

Is a taxi or train a better choice than a black car?

A taxi, CTA train and private chauffeur suit different trips. The City of Chicago taxi tariff effective July 1, 2026 starts at $3.25 before metered distance, time and applicable additions. CTA rail is $2.50 with eligible payment, $5 to enter at O’Hare, and a one-day CTA/Pace pass is $5; a disposable ticket away from O’Hare is $3. A current taxi fuel surcharge may also apply.

At O’Hare, taxis use the lower-level curb outside baggage claim and prearranged liveries meet in the lower-level center lane, Lane 2. Uber Black Car pickups use the lower level at all terminals; general app rides have upper-level zones at Terminals 2 and 3. At Midway, prearranged limousines use the lower-level center lane at Doors 1 and 2, city taxis use the inner lane at Door 2, and rideshare loads at Doors 2 to 4. The Blue Line connects to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 through pedestrian tunnels; Terminal 5 passengers use the airport train to connect.

Compare the fare to your final address, party size and luggage, including the last leg after rail. A meter start, per-person shared taxi fare and whole private-car price are different totals. See Midway airport car service for that airport’s pickup instructions.

When does hourly black car service make sense for meetings and roadshows?

Hourly service fits meetings with multiple appointments or planned waiting between destinations. Artisan’s sedan and SUV rates are $120 to $200 per hour with a 3-hour minimum; the three-hour totals are $360 to $600 by class, and gratuity is optional.

For a roadshow, list each office, stop order, hotel visit, end time and passenger. Say whether one car should remain between meetings or people need separate rides. Approved extensions are billed in 30-minute steps at the same rate, subject to availability. Sprinters and coaches receive a written quote. See Chicago hourly chauffeur service and Chicago roadshow transportation.

How do corporate accounts and private-client requests work?

An individual can request a card-paid ride without a company account. Companies can apply for approved corporate billing by sharing their contact, Chicago service and billing needs; approved accounts offer invoicing and cost centers. Chauffeur continuity is available on request where possible. If an assistant books for a guest, the booker receives trip details and should pass the meeting instructions to the passenger.

Every chauffeur signs an NDA on request. Keep private-client pickup notes to the passenger’s name, entrance and timing. For an FBO ride, we confirm the meeting point at your FBO. See Chicago corporate car service for visitor travel and company billing.

How do I arrange private aviation black car service in Chicago?

For private aviation, send the FBO and tail number, or your flight team’s timing, and we coordinate your pickup. Include the destination, passengers, bags and any stops. We confirm the meeting point at your FBO; waiting terms are set in the written quote.

See pickup details for PWK private aviation car service or DPA private aviation car service.

How should I plan a black car for a McCormick Place convention?

For a McCormick Place convention, include the airport, hotel, event building, entrance instructions, passenger count and return plan. The official calendar lists RSNA from Nov 29 to Dec 3, 2026, and the Midwest Clinic from Dec 16 to 18, 2026. Use a transfer for a direct airport or hotel leg, or hourly service for a meeting day. Large convention dates receive event-week estimates, so the route-table prices are not convention-week fares.

Use your organizer’s building and entrance instructions. Compare Chicago convention and event transportation and provide the travel schedule for a date-specific estimate.

What should I ask before booking a black car?

Ask whether the fare covers your route, date, vehicle and stops, and what charges are listed separately. Check airport waiting, flight tracking, meeting point and dispatch contact. Ask about child-seat cost, hourly minimums and extensions, and written seating and luggage capacity for larger groups.

Before requesting a ride, enter each stop in order, the return if needed, all passengers and bags, and the local pickup time. For corporate travel, ask about invoicing, cost centers or an NDA. For private aviation, provide the FBO and flight-team timing. Compare the complete price and pickup terms, not a route fare alone.

How do you book Chicago black car service with Artisan?

Choose a direct transfer or hourly service, then enter the stops, local date and time, passengers, bags, vehicle class and return. Add the flight number for an airline arrival. For private flights, send the FBO and tail number, or your flight team’s timing, and we coordinate your pickup. If someone else is booking, enter the passenger’s name and pass along the meeting instructions.

Review the price shown before you book; required trip charges are included and gratuity is optional on its own line. A ride request is reviewed, accepted, revised or declined. We save your card with a priced request and charge after acceptance. Group vehicles need a written quote. Request SUV child seats in advance with each child’s age, weight and height; they cost $25 each, up to two, subject to availability. Request rides online or by phone 24/7.
