How we picked
We compared six areas: price visibility and inclusions, airport waiting, vehicles and capacity, booking and support, cancellation terms, and published chauffeur standards. We also checked city coverage and corporate travel options. We did not assign numbered ranks. Company facts and public profile availability were checked Nov 5, 2026.
We’re Artisan Limo, a chauffeured car service in New York, Los Angeles and Orange County, Chicago, South Florida, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Las Vegas, and we wrote this guide. We put ourselves first and say so. Facts about other companies come from their websites or public Google and Yelp profiles, checked Nov 5, 2026. We use each national provider’s national-service rating line where there is no single local listing. Prices and policies change, so check before booking.
Artisan Limo: best for clear pricing and service in seven markets (this is us)
Artisan Limo is a premium chauffeured black car service for airport, hourly, event, corporate and private-aviation trips in only seven markets: New York, Los Angeles and Orange County, Chicago, South Florida, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Las Vegas. The full price is shown before you book, required trip charges are included, and gratuity is optional on its own line. Sedan and SUV rates do not use surge pricing on ordinary dates; major event bookings use event-week estimates.
Sedans and SUVs include 60 minutes of domestic or 90 minutes of international waiting from wheels-down. Sprinter and coach waiting is set in the written quote. Airport meet-and-greet is optional at $25. Child seats are $25 each in SUVs only, up to two per vehicle, requested in advance with each child’s age, weight and height, subject to availability. Best for: travelers in our seven markets who want the full price before booking, airport waiting terms and a phone answered 24/7. Worth knowing: Sprinters and coaches are quoted in writing.
Blacklane GmbH: best for app-first trips across many cities
Blacklane says its platform connects travelers with local chauffeur providers in more than 500 cities across 60-plus countries, including the four U.S. markets in this guide. Its app and website quote one-way rides by route or hourly service by duration. Vehicles include Business Class and First Class sedans and Business Van/SUV; models and capacity vary by city. Blacklane says its local providers are licensed. Airport pickup includes 60 minutes of complimentary waiting, and pre-booked child seats are available at no extra charge when requested, subject to availability. Hourly bookings have a two-hour minimum; ask which trip conditions apply. Free cancellation is available through the app or site until 60 minutes before pickup. Book at blacklane.com or in the app. Best for: app-first trips between cities with airport meet-and-greet. Worth knowing: prices are dynamic, and the city pages do not publish a fixed route-fare table.
Carey International, Inc.: best for corporate accounts and consolidated billing
Carey says it serves more than 1,000 cities in over 70 countries, including airports in Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth. Its fleet ranges from sedans and SUVs to vans and motor coaches, with models varying by market. Request a price online, in the app, through CareyConnect or by phone. Carey offers consolidated corporate billing and SAP Concur integration. Airport transfers include a name-board greeting and luggage help. Carey Support says airport waiting is 60 minutes from landing, while its terms describe other conditions if the passenger misses the meeting point. Carey says it does not provide child safety or booster seats. U.S. transfer cancellations inside the notice window may incur the full transfer rate: under 2 hours for sedans/SUVs, under 8 hours for vans and under 72 hours for motor coaches. Best for: corporate accounts with consolidated billing across cities. Worth knowing: support and terms differ on waiting and price inclusions, so review the trip’s terms. Website: carey.com.
EmpireCLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services: best for corporate and event transportation
EmpireCLS says it serves more than 1,000 cities through company-owned operations in some markets and a vetted global partner network. Its fleet includes sedans, SUVs, Sprinters, minibuses and motorcoaches, subject to local availability. Request an online rate or use Quick Book, then book through its site, app or phone. Airport rates are flat in many major markets, but its terms say actual use, waiting, taxes, tolls, parking and extra services can change the total. Airport waiting is 45 minutes domestic and 75 minutes international; extra time is billed in 15-minute steps. Child seats are $25 each. Best for: corporate and event trips that may need several vehicle types. Worth knowing: its terms list an $18 airport arrival fee and cancellation cutoffs of 1 hour by phone in company-owned markets, 2 hours in affiliate markets and 24 hours by email; late changes may incur the fare plus 20% gratuity. Website: empirecls.com.
Savoya: best for executive travel across 300-plus markets
Savoya says it serves more than 300 markets worldwide and supports corporate travel through its portal and app. Its vehicle options include sedans, SUVs, Sprinters, minibuses and coaches, depending on market. Savoya describes chauffeur screening as a 14-point process and says it accepts 2% of applicants. It publishes no universal route fare or hourly minimum; quotes vary by market, vehicle and program. Fixed transfers include 30 minutes of complimentary waiting, while extra waiting or stops may cost more. Child seats are available in select markets, but its general reservation guide gives no price. Best for: executive and corporate travel across many markets. Worth knowing: hourly minimums and cancellation terms vary by trip, and airport, parking, toll or tax charges may apply. Website: savoya.com.
What does a chauffeur service cost?
Chauffeur service pricing depends on city, route, vehicle and time. Artisan’s published starting rates are the same across our seven markets: rides from $135 in an Executive Sedan, $155 in a Suburban, $185 in an Escalade and $235 in a Luxury Sedan. Hourly service starts at $120. A route quote lets you compare a specific trip and vehicle before you request it.
The examples below are one-way booking-engine quotes for four routes in four Artisan markets. Each quote was obtained Nov 5, 2026, for pickup Sat, Nov 14, 2026, at 10 AM local time, one passenger and one bag. Required trip charges are included, and gratuity is optional on its own line.
| Route | Executive Sedan | Executive SUV | Luxury SUV | Luxury Sedan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| O’Hare (ORD) to Willis Tower, the Loop | $211.60 | $235.86 | $278.62 | $345.65 |
| Harry Reid (LAS) to Bellagio | $159.69 | $181.07 | $215.18 | $270.67 |
| Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) to Fox Theatre, Midtown | $184.25 | $206.99 | $245.20 | $306.14 |
| DFW Airport to The Adolphus, Downtown Dallas | $217.59 | $242.17 | $285.94 | $354.29 |
These are route-specific examples, not a universal fare for every pickup time or destination. Standard sedan and SUV rates do not use surge pricing on ordinary dates. Major event bookings use separate event-week estimates, so do not apply the ordinary rate examples to those trips. See the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, AWS re:Invent, National Finals Rodeo, Las Vegas New Year’s Eve, Wrigley Field, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and AT&T Stadium pages for event-specific information. Route examples for our other markets appear on the market pages listed below.
Hourly rates are the same in Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth. Artisan’s Executive Sedan is $120 per hour, Executive SUV (Suburban) is $144 per hour, Luxury SUV (Escalade) is $165 per hour, and Luxury Sedan is $200 per hour. Each class has a three-hour minimum. A three-hour booking totals $360, $432, $495 or $600, respectively. Additional time is billed in 30-minute steps at the same rate, with customer and dispatch approval and subject to availability. Hourly chauffeur service is useful when your schedule includes several stops or a return trip.
What to check before booking a chauffeur service
Ask companies to describe chauffeur screening in plain terms. Blacklane says it connects passengers with licensed local providers. Savoya describes a 14-point screening and says it accepts 2% of applicants. EmpireCLS describes a vetted partner network without one universal checklist on the pages we reviewed. Carey does not publish one consistent vetting checklist there. Uber Black is rideshare, not a chauffeur company. Artisan uses professional chauffeurs, and each signs an NDA on request. These are company descriptions, not a common independent rating.
Compare airport wait policies and when the clock starts: scheduled pickup, landing, wheels-down or passenger readiness. Check differences for domestic and international arrivals, private flights, hourly rides, Sprinters and coaches. Artisan’s sedan and SUV wait begins at wheels-down, with 60 minutes domestic and 90 minutes international; Sprinter and coach waiting is set in the written quote. Ask about additional waiting or a different meeting point.
Review price inclusions line by line. Ask about airport fees, tolls, parking, taxes, fuel surcharges, meet-and-greet, stops, waiting and gratuity. Is the price fixed, an estimate or demand-sensitive? Artisan shows the full price before you book, includes required trip charges and lists gratuity as optional on its own line. Check the hourly minimum and how extra time is billed. For major events, ask whether normal rates apply.
Read cancellation rules for the specific vehicle and trip. A sedan deadline may differ from a van, motorcoach, roadshow or special event. Check the cutoff, fee, cancellation channel and how route changes are handled. For example, Blacklane lists free cancellation through its app or site until 60 minutes before pickup; Carey and EmpireCLS publish vehicle- and market-specific deadlines. Savoya says terms vary by trip, so check the quote.
If a child needs a seat, confirm availability in the chosen vehicle and request it early. Artisan offers seats for $25 each in SUVs only, up to two, requested in advance with the child’s age, weight and height, subject to availability. Blacklane offers a seat at no extra charge for eligible pre-booked rides, subject to capacity. Carey says it does not provide seats. EmpireCLS lists $25 per seat. Savoya’s general guide gives no price. Uber riders must provide legally required seats; its separate Car Seat option is available in select cities.
National chauffeur networks vs. a local operator
A national chauffeur network suits travelers who need coverage across cities. Blacklane lists more than 500 cities in 60-plus countries, Carey more than 1,000 cities in 70-plus countries, EmpireCLS more than 1,000 cities, and Savoya 300-plus markets. Ask which local operator or fleet handles each ride, and check that city’s vehicle and waiting rules.
A market-specific provider can suit a trip within one service area, especially when you want local pickup details and a route quote. Artisan serves only New York, Los Angeles and Orange County, Chicago, South Florida, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Las Vegas. For trips outside those markets, compare a national network. For any provider, check the fare, meeting point, wait allowance, vehicle capacity and cancellation terms for the destination.
Corporate travel: accounts, invoicing, NDAs and roadshows
Corporate travel teams should compare account setup, passenger details, cost centers, changes and invoice format. Artisan offers company invoicing and cost centers on approved corporate accounts, chauffeur continuity on request where possible, and an NDA signed by every chauffeur on request. For a roadshow, share the stops and timing with the concierge and review the written ride plan and price. See Artisan corporate accounts and roadshow transportation.
Carey says its corporate accounts support consolidated invoicing across its network and SAP Concur integration. Savoya offers portal and app booking for executive and corporate travel; EmpireCLS describes corporate and event transportation. Ask each provider about billing entities, fees, traveler changes and the invoice format before booking.
If an executive assistant books for someone else, provide the passenger’s name and phone so the concierge can coordinate. Artisan sends ride communications to the person booking, not automatically to the passenger. For a group or event, ask about local fleet sizes, pickup staging and extra waiting. A 24/7 phone line can help when plans change outside office hours, so ask which channel can update the trip.
Private aviation and FBO transportation
For private aviation, ask where the chauffeur meets you, how much waiting is included and who will coordinate timing at the FBO. Carey describes private-aviation coordination, and Savoya lets travelers select FBO details in its booking flow; local service varies by airport.
For Artisan private-flight pickups, send the FBO and tail number, or your flight team’s timing, and we coordinate your pickup. We confirm the meeting point at your FBO.
Airline flights are tracked in real time. Review the private aviation service, plus market pages for Chicago private aviation, Atlanta private aviation and Dallas-Fort Worth private aviation. Ask about the specific FBO before you request a ride.
How to book with Artisan
Choose the market, pickup and drop-off points, date, passenger count and vehicle, then submit an online ride request. Artisan shows the full price before you book, and charges the saved card only after you accept the price. Online requests are accepted 24/7; call (888) 850-5060 any time for help. For a commercial airline pickup, provide the flight number so the arrival can be tracked. If booking for another person, include the passenger’s name and phone so the concierge can coordinate with them; ride messages go to the person who booked.
Best Chauffeur Service FAQs
What is the best chauffeur service in the US?
It depends on where you travel and how you book. Artisan serves seven U.S. markets and shows the full price before booking. Blacklane, Carey, EmpireCLS and Savoya publish broader multi-city networks. Compare local coverage, vehicle choice, airport waiting, billing and cancellation terms for the route you need.
What is the difference between a chauffeur service and a car service?
A chauffeur service is a pre-arranged ride with a professional driver. Car service is a broader label that can include a chauffeured sedan, black car or airport transfer, so check the provider’s exact service and booking terms.
Is Uber Black a chauffeur service?
Uber Black is a premium app-based rideshare option, not a chauffeur company. The app handles the request, price display, driver match and pickup instructions.
Is a chauffeur cheaper than Uber?
There is no fixed answer. Rideshare prices change with demand, while a chauffeured ride quote depends on the route, date and vehicle. Compare the displayed total, airport waiting and pickup method for the same trip.
How much does a chauffeur service cost?
It depends on the city, route, date, vehicle and trip length. Artisan rides start at $135 for an Executive Sedan, $155 for a Suburban, $185 for an Escalade and $235 for a Luxury Sedan; hourly service starts at $120 with a three-hour minimum. The full price is shown before you book.
How much does an hourly chauffeur cost?
Artisan hourly rates start at $120 per hour for an Executive Sedan, $144 for an Executive SUV, $165 for a Luxury SUV and $200 for a Luxury Sedan. The minimum is three hours, then extra time is billed in 30-minute steps at the same rate with customer and dispatch approval, subject to availability.
How long does a chauffeur wait at the airport?
Policies vary by company and ride type. Artisan includes 60 minutes for domestic and 90 minutes for international arrivals in sedans and SUVs, counted from wheels-down. Sprinter and coach waiting is set in the written quote. Compare the start time and extra-wait rate before booking.
Do chauffeur services provide child seats?
Policies vary. Artisan offers seats for $25 each in SUVs only, up to two per vehicle, requested in advance with the child’s age, weight and height, subject to availability. Ask the provider to confirm vehicle fit and local availability before you request the trip.
Can I hire a chauffeur for a full day?
Yes, many providers offer hourly or as-directed service, but minimums and trip conditions vary. Artisan’s hourly service has a three-hour minimum, and extra time is billed in 30-minute steps at the same rate with approval and subject to availability.
Can I book a chauffeur for a business roadshow?
Yes. Share the pickup time, stops, passenger details and schedule with a provider that offers corporate or hourly service. Artisan has approved corporate accounts with company invoicing and cost centers, and chauffeur continuity is available on request where possible.
Can a chauffeur pick me up at a private aviation FBO?
Many providers arrange FBO trips, but service and meeting points depend on the airport and operator. For Artisan, send the FBO and tail number, or your flight team’s timing, and we coordinate your pickup. We confirm the meeting point at your FBO.
How much does a full-time chauffeur cost?
There is no single U.S. price. The providers in this guide publish ride quotes, not a nationwide full-time employment rate; the cost depends on location, hours, vehicle and employment terms. Ask for a local employment or contract quote if you need a dedicated driver.
