Taxis
Taxis at MIA
Taxis wait on the arrivals (ground) level outside baggage claim, at designated stands where uniformed Miami-Dade Aviation Department staff help. Wheelchair-accessible taxis are available on request.
Miami-Dade County eliminated flat taxi fares, including to and from MIA, in 2022. The meter applies to every trip, so ignore any website that still lists a flat fare to South Beach or downtown.
MIA lists these metered rates:
$2.95 for the first 1/6 mile
$0.85 for each additional 1/6 mile up to one mile
$0.55 for each additional 1/6 mile after that
$0.40 a minute ($24.00 an hour) waiting charge
$2.00 airport origination fee and a $15 minimum fare for trips from MIA
30% surcharge for SUVs and vans (not for wheelchair-accessible service)
Uber & Lyft
Uber and Lyft
MIA says ride app pickups are on Level 1 (arrivals) and Level 2 (departures); your app shows the door. Uber's directions for the arrivals level are to follow the Ground Transportation or Ride App Pickup signs from baggage claim, cross to the middle median and look for the "Ride App" signs. Full details are in our Miami airport Uber pickup guide.
Private car
Private car service
A private car is booked before you fly, so there's no line and no price set at the curb. With Artisan, we track your flight, and your chauffeur meets you on the arrivals level or, with the $25 meet-and-greet, inside at baggage claim. Domestic arrivals in a sedan or SUV include 60 minutes of waiting and international arrivals 90 minutes, counted from wheels-down. For Sprinters, vans and coaches, waiting is set in the written quote. MIA limits how long a vehicle can stay in a pickup zone to two minutes unless posted otherwise, so you call the concierge when you have your bags and your chauffeur pulls up. Sedan and SUV fares have no surge pricing. See Miami airport car service for rates and vehicles.
Starting fares are the minimum for each vehicle class, not a fixed airport or destination fare. Your complete price depends on the exact addresses, time and options, and you see it before you book. Required trip costs are included. Gratuity is optional.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Starting from |
|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | Up to 2 | $135 |
| Executive SUV (Suburban) | Up to 6 | $155 |
| Luxury SUV (Escalade) | Up to 6 | $185 |
| Luxury Sedan (S-Class / 7 Series) | Up to 2 | $235 |

MIA Mover, Metrorail and buses
The free MIA Mover leaves from Level 3, between the Dolphin and Flamingo garages, and runs to the Miami Intermodal Center: the Rental Car Center, the Metrorail and bus station, and Miami Central Station for Tri-Rail. Metrorail
$2.25 each way. MIA says trains leave every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends. The Orange Line serves Brickell, Government Center, Coconut Grove and Douglas Road. The Green Line serves Hialeah and the Tri-Rail station.
Route 150 Miami Beach Airport Express

Other Metrobus routes serving MIA

Tri-Rail & Brightline
Tri-Rail and Brightline
Tri-Rail is the commuter train linking Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. From the terminal, go to Level 3 and take the MIA Mover to Miami Central Station at the Miami Intermodal Center (not Brightline's MiamiCentral station downtown).
Brightline runs from MiamiCentral station downtown to Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Its Airport Connector Shuttle stops at MIA on Level 2 at Concourse D (Door 6), Concourse E (Door 11) and Concourse H (Door 22). Brightline says the shuttle costs $12 per guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge with a same-day train ticket. Check Brightline's site for current shuttle times.
Hotel shuttles
Hotel shuttles and shared vans
Hotel shuttle buses pick up and drop off on Level 1 at curbside zones by Doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 15, 20, 23, 24 and 28. MIA lists more than 30 hotels with shuttle service, including hotels by the airport, in Doral and in Miami Springs. Ask your hotel which door its shuttle uses. We don't run shared shuttles. Artisan is a private car for your group only, to your exact address.
PortMiami
To PortMiami
PortMiami is about 9 miles from MIA, according to the airport. Cruise line buses leave from the North bus station (Concourse D, Level 1, Door 1) and the South bus station (Concourse J, Level 1, Door 33) if you booked them with your cruise. You can also take a taxi, a ride app, the trolley or a private car. See Miami airport to Port of Miami.
