Miami Airport Uber Pickup

At Miami International Airport (MIA), Uber and Lyft pick up on Level 1 (arrivals) and Level 2 (departures), at the door and zone your app assigns, according to the airport. This guide explains where to go after you land, what the airport and Uber say about pickup rules, and how a pre-booked chauffeur from Artisan Limo compares. If you'd rather skip the curb, Artisan tracks your flight, waits 60 minutes for domestic and 90 minutes for international arrivals in a sedan or SUV, and shows the complete price before you book. Uber pickup

Where is the Uber pickup at Miami airport?

MIA's ground transportation page says ride app pickups are available on the first level (arrivals) and the second level (departures), and tells passengers to check their app for designated locations and door numbers.

Uber says the exact pickup zone depends on your terminal, arrival time, airport rules, construction and where you are when you request, and that riders should follow the directions in the app after they request. Lyft riders should also follow the door and zone shown in their app.

Uber's MIA page gives these general steps for the arrivals level:

  1. From baggage claim, follow signs for Ground Transportation or Ride App Pickup.

  2. Exit the terminal and use the crosswalk to the middle median.

  3. Look for the "Ride App" signs. That's the pickup area.

Step by step

Step by step: getting a ride app at MIA

  1. Collect your bags

Domestic arrivals walk to the main terminal and go down to baggage claim on Level 1. International arrivals clear passport control, collect bags and clear U.S. Customs first.

  2. Request the ride once you have your bags

MIA limits how long a vehicle can stay in a pickup zone to two minutes unless posted otherwise, so drivers can't wait long at the curb.

  3. Check the app for your door and zone

Go to the level and door it shows.

  4. Match the plate

Check the license plate and driver name in the app before you get in.

Safety

Safety: ignore offers inside the terminal

MIA advises passengers to ignore offers of transportation from solicitors inside the terminal. The airport says soliciting ground transportation is illegal and that illegal solicitors may be unlicensed and uninsured. Uber also tells riders not to accept trips from outside the app. For a taxi, go to the designated taxi stands at the lower-level curb outside baggage claim, where uniformed Miami-Dade Aviation Department staff help.
