Fort Lauderdale Airport Transportation

Most terminal pickups at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) are on the lower level (Arrivals), outside baggage claim. Broward County Transit Route 1 starts at the Rental Car Center, Stop G. Here is where to find each option, using Broward County's official airport pages (checked October 2026): the free Rental Car Center shuttle, hotel shuttles, the free Tri-Rail shuttle bus, the Brightline connector, Broward County Transit, taxis, Uber and Lyft, and private car service. Artisan Limo chauffeurs meet you at the curb or inside at baggage claim, and you see the complete price before you book.

Free shuttles

Is there a free shuttle at Fort Lauderdale airport?

Yes, three kinds.

Broward County notes that the pickup area east of Terminal 4 (GTA 4) has been closed since April 11, 2025, until further notice, so follow the signs on the day.

  1. Rental Car Center (RCC) shuttle

Broward County says it runs between the terminals and the Rental Car Center every 10 minutes, around the clock, from the lower level at all terminals and level 3 of the center. Look for the shuttle bus signs.

  2. Hotel shuttles

Nearby hotels may offer free shuttles; contact your hotel. Broward County says the curbside area for Terminals 2 and 3 (GTA-2) has been closed since March 10, 2025, so hotel shuttles pick up at GTA-1 for Terminals 1 and 2 and at GTA-3 for Terminals 3 and 4.

  3. Tri-Rail shuttle bus

Free buses run from the terminals to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach, about every 15–20 minutes during train hours (Tri-Rail), from GTA-1, GTA-2 and GTA-3.

Taxis

Taxis at FLL

Taxi fares are regulated by Broward County. There's a taxi podium on the lower level at each terminal: the west end of Terminal 1, the east end of Terminal 2, the north end of Terminal 3 and the west end of Terminal 4. Broward County publishes these taxi estimates and says they "are estimates and may vary" and change with the fuel surcharge (checked October 2026):

Uber & Lyft

Rideshare pickups are on the lower level. Terminals 1 and 2 use areas between those terminals, and Terminals 3 and 4 use the first floor of the southern Palm Garage, across the crosswalk. Step-by-step directions by terminal: Fort Lauderdale airport Uber pickup.

Private car

Private car service

Book ahead with your flight number and we track your flight. Domestic arrivals in a sedan or SUV include 60 minutes of waiting and international arrivals 90 minutes, counted from wheels-down. For Sprinters, vans and coaches, waiting is set in the written quote. After you collect your bags, call the concierge for the car's description, plate and pickup area, or add the $25 meet-and-greet and your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim. Sedan and SUV fares have no surge pricing. See Fort Lauderdale airport car service.

Starting fares are the minimum for each vehicle class, not a fixed airport or destination fare. Your complete price depends on the exact addresses, time and options, and you see it before you book. Required trip costs are included. Gratuity is optional.

Brightline & Tri-Rail

Brightline and Tri-Rail from FLL

  1. Brightline

The Brightline Airport Connector shuttle runs from the lower level to Brightline's Fort Lauderdale station, where trains run to MiamiCentral, Aventura, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Brightline's page lists the connector at $12 per guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge with a same-day train ticket. Brightline's page and Broward County's page list different hours, so check with Brightline before you travel.

  2. Tri-Rail

Take the free shuttle bus to the Dania Beach station. Tri-Rail links Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County, with stations at Miami International Airport and MiamiCentral downtown.

Shared vans

Shared shuttle vans

Shared-ride shuttle vans carry several parties and stop at each address, so your arrival depends on the other stops. We don't run shared shuttles. An Artisan car carries only your group, straight to your address, and a family of up to 6 with 6 bags fits in one SUV, priced per vehicle.

Vehicles

Choose your vehicle

Sprinters, Mini Coaches and Motorcoaches are priced by written quote for your date and group.

Child seats are available in SUVs only, up to 2 per vehicle. Request them in advance with each child's age, weight and height. Child seats are subject to availability.

Fort Lauderdale airport transportation FAQ

For your exact route, vehicle and timing, review the trip details and terms before submitting.

Speak with the concierge
Is there a free shuttle from Fort Lauderdale airport?

Yes. The Rental Car Center shuttle is free and runs every 10 minutes around the clock, some hotels run free shuttles, and the Tri-Rail shuttle bus to the Dania Beach station is free. All leave from the lower level.

What is the cheapest shuttle to Fort Lauderdale airport?

A free hotel shuttle, if your hotel runs one, or the free Tri-Rail shuttle bus if you're coming by train. Broward County Transit Route 1 stops at the Rental Car Center, Stop G.

Is an airport shuttle cheaper than a taxi?

A shared shuttle charges per person; a taxi or private car charges per vehicle. For one traveler, a shared seat can cost less. For a family or group, one vehicle priced per vehicle can compare well, and it goes straight to your address.

How do I get from Fort Lauderdale airport to my hotel?

Check whether your hotel runs a free shuttle and which Ground Transportation Area it uses. Otherwise take a taxi from your terminal's podium, a ride app from the rideshare area, or book a private car with the price shown before you book.

Is Uber or a taxi cheaper in Fort Lauderdale?

It depends on the trip, the time and how many people are riding. A ride-app price is set when you request and moves with demand. With Artisan, you see the full price before you book. For a group, one SUV or Sprinter is priced per vehicle, not per person.

Who can help me at the airport with ground transportation?

Each terminal has a Ground Transportation Booth on the lower level, staffed during arrival peak periods. Broward County's Ground Transportation Office is listed on the airport's ground transportation page.
