O'Hare Uber Pickup
At O'Hare, standard Uber and Lyft pickups are on the upper level (departures), not outside baggage claim. Terminal 2 riders use orange-signed zones 2A to 2G, and Terminal 3 riders use green-signed zones 3G to 3K. From Terminal 1 you walk to the Terminal 2 zones, and from Terminal 5 you ride the airport train to Terminal 2. Uber Black, Black SUV and prearranged car services are different: they pick up on the lower level at every terminal. This guide walks through each terminal, based on O'Hare's and Uber's own pickup pages (checked October 2026).

Terminal 2
Terminal 2 rideshare pickup
According to O'Hare, the Terminal 2 rideshare area is on the upper level, with pickup poles marked by orange signs labeled 2A through 2G. Wait at your zone until your car arrives. There's an indoor waiting area between vestibules 2A and 2D, which helps in winter. Uber's own page lines its Terminal 2 zones up with the doors, labeled 2A-UL and up.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 rideshare pickup
Terminal 3 has its own rideshare pickup on the upper level, with poles marked by green signs labeled 3G, 3H, 3J and 3K, according to O'Hare. From baggage claim, go up to the departures level and walk out to your zone. Uber's page sends Terminal 3 riders out through vestibule 3H on the upper level.
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 rideshare pickup
O'Hare's rideshare zones are listed at Terminals 2 and 3 only. Uber tells Terminal 1 riders to go up to the departures level and head to the Terminal 2 zones by sidewalk or the airport train. Set your pickup pin to the zone you're walking to.
Terminal 5
Terminal 5 pickup (international arrivals)
Uber's O'Hare page lists international airlines such as KLM, Air France, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Ethiopian at Terminal 5. Standard rideshare cars don't pick up at Terminal 5. O'Hare's Terminal 5 map shows rideshare pickup at Terminal 2 on the departure level, and ABC7 Chicago reported the change in February 2023. To get there, take the Airport Transit System, the free airport train, to Terminal 2 and go up to the 2A to 2G zones.
Black cars and chauffeured car services still pick up at Terminal 5, on the lower level. Friends and family picking someone up use the lower-level arrivals curb, and O'Hare doesn't allow curbside waiting. Drivers can wait free in the Cell Phone Lot at 560 N. Bessie Coleman Drive until you're outside.
Uber Black
Uber Black and Black SUV pickup at O'Hare
Uber Black and Black SUV don't use the upper-level rideshare zones. Uber says those pickups are curbside at every terminal. Follow the signs for "Limos and Prearranged Vehicles" from baggage claim, cross to the second curb and meet your driver in the prearranged loading zone. O'Hare says black car pickups are offered on the lower level of all terminals.
Skip the walk
Skip the walk: a chauffeur on the lower level
With Artisan Limo, your chauffeur meets you on the lower level of your own terminal in the center lane (lane 2), the area O'Hare designates for prearranged cars. That includes Terminal 5, so you don't need the airport train to Terminal 2.
Sedans start from $135 and SUVs from $155. See our O'Hare car service page for rates and vehicles, or compare both options in O'Hare car service vs Uber.
We track your flight
Domestic arrivals in a sedan or SUV include 60 minutes of waiting and international arrivals 90 minutes, counted from wheels-down. For Sprinters, vans and coaches, waiting is set in the written quote.
Call the concierge after baggage claim
We give you the car's description, plate and the door to walk out to. O'Hare says a prearranged car can take 5 to 20 minutes to reach the pickup area, depending on traffic.
Meet-and-greet
For $25, your chauffeur meets you inside baggage claim and walks you to the car.
Price first
Rideshare prices change with demand. With Artisan you see the full price before you book and a professional chauffeur drives.

Point-to-point starting fares from O'Hare
