O'Hare Car Service vs Uber

Choosing between a car service and Uber at O'Hare comes down to price, pickup spot and what happens if your flight is late. Uber's price is set when you request and changes with demand, and standard Uber pickups are on the upper level at Terminals 2 and 3. A prearranged car service like Artisan Limo shows you the full price before you book, tracks your flight, and meets you on the lower level of your own terminal with 60 minutes of included waiting on domestic arrivals (sedans and SUVs). This guide compares both, using O'Hare's and Uber's own information.

Price

Price: what you know and when

Rideshare prices change with demand. With Artisan you see the full price before you book and a professional chauffeur drives.

Starting fares are the minimum for each vehicle class, not a fixed airport or destination fare. Your complete price depends on the exact addresses, time and options, and you see it before you book. Required trip costs are included. Gratuity is optional.

For comparison, O'Hare lists an average taxi fare of $50 from the airport to downtown. For a group, one SUV is priced per vehicle, not per person, so the cost per rider falls as more people share it.

We track airline flights in real time, so your chauffeur adjusts to your actual arrival. Domestic arrivals in a sedan or SUV include 60 minutes of waiting and international arrivals 90 minutes, counted from wheels-down. For Sprinters, vans and coaches, waiting is set in the written quote.

Uber says that with Uber Reserve, UberX, Comfort and XL drivers wait 45 minutes from your arrival and Black and Premier drivers 60 minutes before late fees apply. With a regular on-demand Uber, you request the ride after you land.

Uber Black

Car service vs Uber Black

Uber Black is the app's premium option, with curbside pickup at every terminal. A chauffeured car service adds a price you see before you fly, flight tracking with included waiting, child seats in SUVs, a meet-and-greet inside baggage claim and a concierge you can call. See black car service Chicago for luxury sedans and SUVs.
