What is LAX-it
What is LAX-it?
LAX-it is the pickup area for taxis and ride apps leaving LAX. LAX moved those pickups out of the terminal loop to cut congestion during the airport's rebuild, which includes a people mover train, new terminals and new parking. As of October 2026, the official LAX page still sends taxi and ride-app pickups to LAX-it.
LAX-it only affects arrivals. Drop-offs for departing flights still happen at the terminal curb, whatever car you take.
Where it is
Where is LAX-it?
LAX-it is next to Terminal 1. LAX-it has restrooms and charging stations. A limited number of taxis also wait inside the terminal area: in Parking Structure 3 between the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminal 3, and at the far end of Terminal 7 outside baggage claim.
There are two ways to get to LAX-it:
Walk
Large LAX-it signs mark the route along the sidewalk outside baggage claim. From Terminal 7, signs show you where to cross the street. LAX says you can take luggage carts with you, and there are cart return racks at the lot.
Free shuttle
Find the LAX-it shuttle on the first (arrivals) level outside baggage claim, at the stops with green column wraps. LAX says shuttles come about every 7 minutes, run 24 hours a day, use lanes reserved for airport buses and make no more than two stops before LAX-it.

Meet your driver at the ride-app area in the lot
Kids & luggage
Traveling with kids or lots of luggage
LAX says its LAX-it shuttles have no seat belts to secure a car seat, though there is room behind the driver for children in strollers. That means a shuttle ride with your bags and car seats before your ride even starts. LAX notes that families can be picked up at the terminal curb instead, by a private car or a premium service such as Uber Black.
All LAX-it shuttles are wheelchair accessible. LAX says the larger low-floor buses have ramps and the smaller buses have lifts, and you can contact LAX before you arrive to ask for help boarding.
