Best LAX Car Service
The best car service for LAX picks you up at the terminal curb, tracks your flight, tells you how long it will wait and shows the full price before you book. This checklist covers what to look for and the questions to ask before you pay, so you can compare any LAX car service fairly. At the end, we show how Artisan Limo answers each point.

Why it matters
Why the right LAX car service matters
LAX has nine terminals, and taxis and standard ride apps don't pick up at them. According to LAX, those rides use the LAX-it lot next to Terminal 1, reached on foot or by shuttle. Limousines, town cars and prearranged car services pick up at the outermost curb on the first (arrivals) level outside baggage claim. A good car service uses that curb, so you walk out of baggage claim and into your car. More on how the lot works: LAX-it pickup.
Checklist
The 10-point checklist
Licensed operator
In California, chauffeured car services operate under a charter-party carrier (TCP) permit from the California Public Utilities Commission.
Curbside pickup at your terminal
Ask where the chauffeur will meet you. The answer should be the terminal curb or inside the terminal, never the LAX-it lot.
Real-time flight tracking
Your pickup should follow your actual landing, not the time printed on your ticket.
Included waiting time, in writing
Ask how many minutes of waiting are included after landing and when the clock starts. International arrivals need more time for passport control and customs.
Full price before you book
You should see the total trip price before you commit, with required costs included. Ask what could change it, such as added stops or extra waiting.
The right vehicle, with real capacities
Look for passenger and bag counts for each vehicle, so a family of five with luggage doesn't end up in a sedan.
Child seats
Ask which vehicles carry them, how many and what details you need to give in advance.
Meet-and-greet option
For first-time visitors, older travelers or VIP guests, a chauffeur who meets you inside the terminal is worth asking about. Check the price.
Clear cancellation policy
Know how many hours before pickup you can cancel for a full refund.
A real person to call
If a flight is diverted or your plans change, you need someone who answers the phone.

Best LAX car service FAQ

Speak with the conciergeWhat is the best car service for LAX?
The best one for you meets you at the terminal curb, tracks your flight, puts the included waiting time in writing, shows the full price before you book and has a vehicle that fits your group and bags. Use the checklist above to compare.
How much is a car service from LAX?
It depends on your destination and vehicle. With Artisan Limo, LAX rides start from $135 in an Executive Sedan, $155 in a Suburban, $185 in an Escalade and $235 in an S-Class or 7 Series, and you see the full price before you book.
Is it cheaper to get a taxi or Uber from LAX?
It depends on demand. Taxis to Downtown LA have a flat fare: $51.15 plus a $4 airport surcharge on LADOT's posted rate card (checked October 6, 2026). Uber prices change with demand. Both pick up at LAX-it, not the terminal curb.
Is a limo cheaper than Uber?
Usually not for one or two people. For a family or group, one SUV or Sprinter can compete with several app rides. Rideshare prices change with demand. With Artisan you see the full price before you book and a professional chauffeur drives.
Can a car service pick me up at the LAX terminal?
Yes. LAX says limousines and town cars pick up at the outermost curb on the first level outside baggage claim. They don't use LAX-it.
How long will a car service wait at LAX?
It varies by company, so ask before you book. Artisan includes 60 minutes for domestic flights and 90 for international, from wheels-down, in sedans and SUVs.
