Atlanta Airport Transportation

Every way to get from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) into the city, with where each one picks up and what it costs. ATL has two arrival areas: the Domestic Terminal (North and South) and the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal. At the Domestic Terminal, taxis and shuttles leave from the Ground Transportation Center (GTC), outside baggage claim. Information below is from atl.com and itsmarta.com, checked October 7, 2026. MARTA

MARTA from Atlanta airport

MARTA's Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal, between the North and South baggage claim areas, and is served by the Red and Gold lines (itsmarta.com). The standard fare is $2.50 (itsmarta.com, checked October 7, 2026). From the International Terminal, take the free shuttle on the arrivals level to Domestic Terminal baggage claim, then walk to the station. After 8:30 pm, riders heading to Buckhead, Medical Center, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs or North Springs may need to take a Gold line (Doraville) train and transfer to the Red line (North Springs) at Lindbergh Center (itsmarta.com).

At the Domestic Terminal, taxis pick up in GTC Aisle A, stalls A3 to A10. At the International Terminal, taxis wait on the arrival level outside the A-1 door (atl.com).

The airport lists these flat fares as including a $1.50 vehicle trip fee, plus $2.00 for each additional person. Outside the flat-fare zones, taxis run on the meter: $3.50 for the first 1/8 mile, $0.30 for each additional 1/8 mile, a $1.50 vehicle trip fee and $24.00 an hour for waiting. A fuel surcharge may be added based on gas prices (atl.com, checked October 7, 2026).

Shuttles

Shared-ride and regional shuttles

Local shared-ride shuttles pick up in GTC Aisle B, stalls B3 to B8, and serve Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties. The airport says they run about every 15 minutes, and you book with the shuttle company directly (atl.com).

Regional shuttles to cities outside metro Atlanta use stalls B9 and B10. The airport says they leave every 30 minutes to an hour, or only by reservation, depending on the company (atl.com).

Hotel shuttles

Hotel shuttles pick up at the Domestic Terminal in GTC Aisle C on the West Curb; go out through door W-1 or W-2. At the International Terminal, hotel shuttle service is limited and picks up to the right of the A3 door (atl.com). Ask your hotel whether it runs a shuttle and when.

Uber & Lyft

Uber and Lyft at ATL

At the Domestic Terminal, rideshare pickup is in the North Economy lot. Go through North baggage claim to the escalators between doors N2 and N3, exit through door LN1, cross the crosswalk into the parking deck and follow the orange signs. The airport says to expect about a five-minute walk and to request your ride only when you reach the pickup zone. At the International Terminal, follow the airport's current rideshare signs and the meeting point in your app before requesting a ride. Car service

Pre-arranged car service

All limousine and car service at ATL must be arranged in advance, and only companies with an airport ground transportation permit can pick up (atl.com). Your driver meets you inside the terminal near the atrium or at the curb on the North or South lower level. At the International Terminal, Atlanta-bound passengers are met in the arrivals hall, with the pickup curb just outside (atl.com).
